Football Academy and Training Methodology

Football Academy

RDT-Football Academy is one of the numerous projects that RDT is currently supporting in terms of football development as well as sport development. The Football Academy is located in RDT-Sport Campus. It was built in July 2010 as a residential Academy with a capacity for more than 50 players.

At that time, there was a slight tissue of players over the entire district but the conditions were far from those required to stablish a real system for developing football culture. RDT-Football Academy was the first step for upcoming football projects.

The academy players were selected by two Spanish Football Clubs: SANT VICENTÍ F.C. and SANT CUGAT ESPORT F.C. Both clubs have been conducting short summer football camps in Ananthapuramu from 2007 onwards.

Recently, RDT has strengthened the structure of Academy and has finally built a system for his proper development.

The outstanding players of ANANTHAPURAMU PREMIER FOOTBALL LEAGUE will join the Academy by next Academic year (2015-2016). Different age group teams (from 6^th standard until college) will practice under qualified coaches. Vacancies at early stages due to the age of players will be filled by new younger league players. Players that have passed through all age groups are likely to become coaches and work at regional level for league teams. Some of them might continue their career as football players and a few will join their own desires.

  Anyway, all of them will have been enriched with a deep knowledge of this discipline; they will have lived in a challenging environment and will have improved his personal and professional skills.

The conclusion of this system-based structure is that the Academy will link the gap between regional football (represented with a football league) and higher steps.

Training Methodology

Academy methodology can be defined as one that cares about player development at several stages. Players focus all the attention and his growth is the utmost target. The Academy does not try to prepare players only for competitive purposes but also for personal reasons. Apart from game skills, the Academy players are also required to develop abilities such as English communication skills and teaching skills.

The game will be taught as it is: a collective game. Through a worth deepening in technical, tactical and collective game contents, players will approach to a better understanding of the game.
